Kimberly G Terhune Obituary, Death; – The Kansas Highway Patrol has provided additional details regarding a deadly accident that occurred on Tuesday west of Topeka. The incident took place on Interstate 70 in Wabaunsee County at approximately 11:15 a.m.
The KHP reported that a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound on I-70 when it veered into the median and subsequently entered the eastbound passing lane, colliding with a Dodge Ram. The driver of the SUV, 64-year-old Kimberly G. Terhune from Maple Hill, Kansas, was declared dead at the scene, with the KHP noting that she was not wearing a seatbelt.
Inside the pickup were a 73-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman from Manhattan, both of whom were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with varying degrees of injuries; the report indicated that they were both wearing seatbelts. Eastbound traffic on I-70 was halted for several hours before being reopened.
