Donald Carson Arrested; – A driver is facing allegations of driving under the influence following a collision with a family on the North Freeway this past Sunday. The Conroe Police Department reported that the tragic incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on the northbound main lanes of I-45.

According to law enforcement, a 26-year-old mother and her two daughters, aged 5 and 3, were stationary in a white Toyota Camry on the inside shoulder due to a flat tire when the driver of a blue Honda Civic, identified as 55-year-old Donald Carson, struck them. Upon arrival, officers found both vehicles engulfed in flames. The Conroe Police Department stated that with assistance from bystanders, the mother and her 5-year-old daughter were extricated from the burning vehicle and transported to the hospital with serious burns and injuries.

Unfortunately, the 3-year-old was not rescued and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities indicated that Carson, who showed signs of intoxication during the investigation, was also taken to the hospital for his injuries. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault. Officials noted that he will be processed at the Montgomery County Jail once he is discharged from the hospital.
