Jeffrey Rupnow Arrested; – The father of a girl from Wisconsin, who was involved in a shooting incident at Abundant Life Christian School that resulted in two fatalities, has been apprehended and is facing felony charges. According to the Madison Police Department, Jeffrey Rupnow, aged 42, was taken into custody at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, following the unsealing of an arrest warrant at 1 p.m. that same day.

Madison police have indicated that he is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of supplying a dangerous weapon to an individual under the age of 18, which led to death. During a news conference, Interim Police Chief John Patterson disclosed that two firearms, along with magazines and ammunition, were discovered at the school on the day of the incident. Only one firearm was utilized by the shooter, both of which were legally acquired by Rupnow from stores in Dane County.

Additionally, police found other weapons in the residence during a search, including one intended as a gift for the teenage shooter, Natalie ‘Samantha’ Rupnow. Patterson noted that while there was a gun safe in the home, it did not prevent the teenager from having regular access to the firearms. The Dane County District Attorney’s Office has stated that Rupnow is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Friday. The shooting, which occurred in December 2024, resulted in the deaths of a teacher and a student, with six others sustaining injuries. Five individuals have since been discharged from the hospital, while one remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Madison police have previously reported that they are reviewing online records and other resources, as well as interviewing the shooter’s parents and classmates, to ascertain the motive behind the shooting. Patterson also urged the public to respect the privacy of the victims, students, and staff at ALCS, and requested that individuals refrain from visiting the school’s campus on Thursday to allow victims and their families the necessary time and space to process the situation.
