Linhu Jin Obituary, Death; – Authorities reported that a man from Bergen County was found deceased on a hiking trail in the Catskill Mountains of New York last week. Linhu Jin, aged 54, from Palisades Park, was discovered unresponsive by fellow hikers on the Devil’s Path trail at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, as stated in a press release by the New York State Police. Troopers arrived at Sprucetown Road in Lexington and declared Jin dead at the scene.
According to the release, there is no suspicion of foul play. The Devil’s Path is a challenging 24-mile trail recognized as one of the most difficult hikes in the area, if not the entire country, as reported by the Times Union. The trail is characterized by steep ascents and descents, with limited water sources, necessitating thorough preparation even for seasoned hikers.
The investigation is being supported by other agencies, including the New York State Forest Rangers, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lexington Fire Company.
