Alfonzo Riser,Tyrone Riser Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a 20-year-old man who was shot and killed during an incident involving a deputy after he reportedly attacked his father multiple times with a sword.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that its deputies responded to reports of a domestic violence situation at Emerald Dunes Drive in West Palm Beach shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that an armed altercation was taking place between two family members—52-year-old Alfonzo Riser and his son Tyrone Riser—inside the residence on Emerald Dunes Drive, near Vista Parkway.
According to the sheriff’s office, as deputies entered the home, they observed Tyrone stabbing his father, Alfonzo, with a sword. The PBSO reported that deputies instructed Tyrone to drop the weapon, but he failed to comply, prompting one deputy to discharge his firearm at Tyrone. Both Tyrone and Alfonzo received medical assistance; however, the PBSO confirmed that both ultimately succumbed to their injuries.
In accordance with departmental protocol, the deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave with pay. The PBSO Violent Crimes Division, along with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, is currently conducting an investigation into this incident.
