Chanti Dixon Obituary, Death; – Authorities have reported that an Uber driver, recently apprehended in connection with the death of a woman from Indianapolis, confessed to raping, shooting, and killing her after picking her up from her workplace on Sunday morning.

Francisco Valadez, aged 29, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning by homicide detectives in Indianapolis and has been preliminarily charged with murder.
According to reports, Valadez admitted to law enforcement that he shot and killed 30-year-old Chanti Dixon in a moment of rage following an attempted sexual assault in the rear of his vehicle. He also allegedly confessed to disposing of Dixon’s body in an alley situated in a wooded area close to her residence.

“This is utterly appalling and entirely preventable,” stated Chris Bailey, the chief of the Indianapolis Metro Police.
Details surrounding Dixon’s death indicate that, as per court documents submitted on Tuesday in Marion County Court, officers were summoned around 1 p.m. on Monday to the 1800 block of Wagner Lane after a woman’s body was discovered in a nearby wooded area. Upon arrival, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department found a woman, unclothed and unresponsive, lying face down.
The victim’s family reported that they tracked her phone to the woods behind her home, where they subsequently located her body and notified the authorities.
The woman, later identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as Dixon, was declared dead at the scene. Following the processing of the crime scene for evidence, it was determined that Dixon had sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of her head.

A woman present near the scene informed police that the deceased was her daughter, who had been missing since early Sunday morning. She explained to officers that her daughter had finished work around 3:30 a.m. and had ordered an Uber to return home. No communication had occurred since that time.
IMPD personnel reportedly discovered two cell phones in the wooded area adjacent to Dixon’s body, both of which belonged to her. Her mother provided the police with the passcodes for these devices, which investigators indicated would ultimately lead them to Valadez.
In the course of the investigation into Valadez, detectives, upon returning to the homicide office, established that Dixon had requested an Uber at 3:34 a.m. from the 2300 block of W. 16th Street.
