Kevin R Hall Jr Obituary, Death; – On Monday, law enforcement apprehended a man from Troy in relation to a homicide that occurred on Third Street. Juan Rivera, aged 26, has been charged with second-degree murder.

On April 21 at approximately 7:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault at a residence on Third Street, where they discovered a 47-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The victim, identified as Kevin R. Hall Jr., succumbed to his injuries later at a local hospital. During the investigation, Rivera was identified as a suspect, with detectives uncovering that he and Hall were acquainted.

The altercation reportedly arose from a dispute over property, which escalated to Rivera allegedly stabbing Hall. Detectives located Rivera at a hotel in Latham and took him into custody around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Police reported that he had been released from prison in late March and is currently on probation following a prior conviction for assault in 2021.

After being arraigned at Troy City Court, Rivera was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail. Authorities encourage anyone with pertinent information regarding the ongoing investigation to reach out to the Troy Police Department at (518)270-4777.
