Bruce Jones Arrested; – A man is in custody following a reported stabbing incident that occurred early on Easter morning in Elmira’s Southside.

At approximately 12:13 a.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to 260 W. Chemung Place after receiving a report of a stabbing victim, as stated by the Elmira Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who had suffered a life-threatening injury to his neck. He was subsequently transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for medical treatment and is now reported to be in stable condition.

Additionally, authorities discovered a second victim who had been stabbed and sustained minor injuries to her face and hand. She received treatment at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Both victims were acquainted with their assailant and provided his identity to the police. The suspect, identified as Bruce Jones, whose address was not disclosed, fled the scene before officers arrived. He was later apprehended a short distance from 260 W. Chemung Place.

Following the investigation, Jones was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree attempted assault, both of which are felonies. He is currently held at the Chemung County Jail without bail, pending further court proceedings.
