Michael Phu Alquisira Obituary, Death; – On Monday afternoon, an 18-year-old lost his life following a motorcycle collision with the rear of a pickup truck, as reported by Arlington police. Officers arrived at the intersection of South Cooper Street and Inwood Drive shortly after 3 p.m. on April 14. They discovered the motorcyclist unresponsive on the roadway.
He was transported to Medical City Arlington hospital for medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after 4 p.m., as confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The deceased has been identified as Michael Phu Alquisira. Alquisira was traveling south on Cooper Street when he collided with the back of a northbound 2013 Dodge Ram that was making a left turn onto Inwood Drive.
Authorities have not dismissed the possibility of speed being a contributing factor in the incident. Witnesses informed investigators that the motorcyclist was engaging in lane splitting, which is prohibited in Texas, and was driving in a reckless manner just prior to the crash. The driver of the Ram remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. She did not sustain any injuries and is not facing any criminal charges, according to police. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
