Debra Carrington Obituary, Death; – Investigators are currently assessing whether a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend was a result of road rage.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, around 11 p.m. on Saturday, the body of a woman was discovered inside a bullet-riddled SUV that had collided with a tree on Caruso Forest Drive, located near Antoine and West Gulf Bank.
“When deputies arrived, they found the driver deceased inside the vehicle,” stated HCSO Sgt. Jason Brown at the scene. “The vehicle had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. It appears she was shot and killed in this area—somewhere within the neighborhood—before crashing the vehicle here.”
The sheriff’s office indicated that the gunfire directed at the woman’s vehicle may have led to her losing control of the SUV, resulting in the crash into the tree.
The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Debra Carrington. The HCSO is currently reviewing surveillance footage and is encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the road rage incident or the shooting to come forward.
“We do not have a suspect vehicle to report at this moment, but we believe the shooting took place on the roadway. We will examine all available cameras to identify the suspects,” Brown added.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
