Elijah Scott Obituary, Death; – A man on an electric scooter fatally shot a 45-year-old individual just outside the victim’s apartment in Brighton Beach, according to police reports on Saturday.

Elijah Scott was standing near an apartment building on Brighton 12th Street close to Oceanview Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday when an unknown assailant opened fire, striking him multiple times, authorities stated.

Emergency Medical Services transported Scott to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Scott resided just a short distance from the location of the shooting, as indicated by police.

The shooter fled the scene on the electric scooter, and no arrests have yet been made.

Scott had a criminal history, with at least eight prior arrests for offenses including assault, weapons possession, possession of stolen property, and operating a motor vehicle without a license, according to police sources.

On Saturday, law enforcement officials were actively searching the vicinity for surveillance footage that might assist in identifying the shooter.

This tragic incident occurred despite police reporting a 23% decrease in shooting incidents during the first quarter of the year compared to the same timeframe last year, with incidents dropping from 182 to 140.
