Arthur St Amant Joubert Obituary, Death;- A 38-year-old man from Breaux Bridge lost his life in a collision with a school bus on Thursday morning.
According to Sheriff Becket Breaux, deputies from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 7:00 am about a two-vehicle accident involving a school bus in the 1000 block of Poche Bridge Road, Breaux Bridge.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered that a 2011 Hyundai Elantra, which was traveling northbound, had crossed the center line for reasons that are still unclear and struck a southbound school bus from St. Martin Parish head-on.
The driver of the Elantra, identified as Arthur St. Amant Joubert, was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the bus occupants. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still ongoing.
