Barry Fields Jr,Casey Fields Obituary, Death; – Two of the three individuals who lost their lives in a crash on Deans Bridge Road in August have been identified.
According to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen, the front seat passenger was 15-year-old Barry Fields Jr. from Augusta, while his brother, 13-year-old Casey Fields from Augusta, occupied the backseat.
Authorities are still awaiting DNA results to confirm the identity of the driver. On Friday, August 16th, a Blythe Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Mercury Sable for speeding at 7:53 p.m. The driver of the Sable subsequently fled, leading to a pursuit.
The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic near the intersection with Bath Edie Road. After traveling against the flow of traffic for one mile, the driver collided head-on with another vehicle just north of Etterlee Road. The car then ignited and was completely consumed by flames.
