Alexiya Payne Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost her life in a collision on Interstate 75 in Dayton on Sunday night has been named. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Tuesday that the deceased was 21-year-old Alexiya Payne.
Emergency responders, including Dayton Police and medics, arrived at the scene of the accident involving a semi-truck on I-75 northbound at approximately 11:39 p.m., as previously reported by News Center 7.
Dayton Police Sgt. Gordon Cairns stated that a four-door sedan collided with a semi-truck that was moving at a notably slow speed on I-75 northbound, just beyond W. Third Street. Payne, who was a passenger in the sedan, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, along with two infants, was taken to local hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
