Jeremy Dean Barnett Obituary, Death;- The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot during a confrontation with deputies on Wednesday afternoon.
As reported by the sheriff’s office, 45-year-old Jeremy Dean Barnett was killed by deputies who were responding to a domestic violence incident near the intersection of Midwest Blvd and Seward in southern Guthrie.
Officials indicate that Barnett opened fire on the deputies when they attempted to engage with a woman at the residence. During the exchange, two deputies from Logan County, Captain Tom Kutay and Deputy Kayoomars Niroomandi, sustained gunshot wounds.
In response, a third deputy, Major Greg Randolph, returned fire at Barnett, who fled the scene after being struck. Barnett was later discovered deceased shortly after additional backup arrived. Both Kutay and Niroomandi received treatment for their injuries and have since been released from the hospital.
