Maysa Davis Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a pedestrian who lost her life in an accident over the weekend on Interstate 72 close to New Berlin. Maysa Davis, a 35-year-old resident of New Berlin, was discovered shortly before midnight on Saturday, as reported by Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon. She was declared dead at the scene.
Initial autopsy findings suggest that her death resulted from multiple blunt-force injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle, according to Allmon. The driver involved in the incident fled the scene and has yet to be identified, as stated by officials.
The investigation into the death is ongoing, being conducted by the coroner’s office in conjunction with the Illinois State Police.
