Ian Harvey Obituary, Death; – The Peoria County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life late Saturday night in a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Central Peoria.

Coroner Jamie Harwood reported that Ian Harvey, a 25-year-old resident of East Peoria, sustained multiple blunt-force trauma injuries following the impact of his motorcycle with a vehicle operated by an unlicensed juvenile. Harwood indicated that Harvey likely died “instantly.”

The accident occurred at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday when the juvenile allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in the motorcycle being struck, as stated by a spokesperson from the Illinois State Police. After the initial collision, Harvey was thrown from his motorcycle and subsequently hit by another vehicle traveling behind him, leading to his death, according to state police reports.

Harwood noted that Harvey was wearing “full-protective gear,” including a helmet at the time of the incident. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and no further details have been released as of Monday afternoon. It remains unclear whether the juvenile will face any charges or traffic citations in Peoria County Circuit Court. Authorities have not disclosed the youth’s identity due to his age.
