Patrick Sargent Obituary, Death; – The office of Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early Jr. has identified the individual who lost his life in an officer-involved shooting on March 5, along with providing some details regarding the ongoing investigations. However, the identity of the officer involved and the specific circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been disclosed.
According to Early’s office, the deceased is 25-year-old Patrick Sargent from Boylston. Investigations into the incident are being conducted by detectives from the Massachusetts State Police, who are assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office. Upon completing their investigation, the state police will submit their findings to Early’s office.
Additionally, Early has engaged Winchester Attorney John Dawley Sr. to perform an external review of the case. Dawley has an extensive background, having served for 20 years as the first assistant district attorney in Essex County, followed by seven years as an assistant district attorney, and has been in private practice for 17 years.
Dawley is expected to present his report to Early once it is finalized.
