Lamar Nicolas Burkes Obituary, Death; – The Roanoke Police Department apprehended a man on Tuesday, March 11, who was sought in connection with a murder case. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 1, when police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of 30th Street NW.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old Lamar Nicolas Burkes, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. More than a week later, authorities arrested 39-year-old Quante Martice Dillard Sr., charging him with first-degree murder, as reported by Roanoke Police.
Following discussions with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, the case was brought before a grand jury on Monday, March 3, resulting in an indictment for first-degree murder.
