Joseph Azcona Obituary, Death; – A 14-year-old has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a police officer while the officer was seated in his vehicle in Newark, New Jersey, as reported by officials on Saturday.
Detective Joseph Azcona, aged 26, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, while another officer who was also shot is currently in recovery.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the vicinity of a White Castle and McDonald’s, where the teenager was reportedly socializing with friends, according to ABC7, citing the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The identity of the juvenile suspect has not been disclosed.
