Roy Herrin Obituary, Death; – The identity of a man whose death has been deemed suspicious by law enforcement was disclosed late Friday afternoon. Jones County Coroner Burl Hal confirmed that the individual found deceased on Thursday in a hotel room in Laurel is Roy Herrin, an adult male from Jones County.
According to the Laurel Police Department, officers responded to a call at the Executive Inn & Suites on Sawmill Road around noon on Thursday. Upon arrival, officers located Herrin’s body in one of the rooms. His remains have been forwarded to the state Crime Lab for an autopsy. The Laurel Police Department stated that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
