Esmerelda Lizete Rodriguez Perez Obituary, – An investigation has been initiated following the fatal shooting of a woman and the hospitalization of a man in Lexington during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Lexington Police Department reported that officers were dispatched shortly after 1 a.m. to the 300 block of Besty Lane in response to a shooting incident involving a victim. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered a woman who had sustained gunshot wounds.

According to a news release from the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, 28-year-old Esmerelda Lizete Rodriguez Perez was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

While officers were present at the shooting site, a man was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening from a gunshot wound. Authorities did not clarify whether this individual was connected to the shooting incident.
