Richard Meek Obituary, Death; – The Champaign County Coroner has confirmed the identity of a 70-year-old man discovered deceased with several stab wounds in Urbana on Tuesday. The deceased has been named Richard Meek, a resident of Urbana, who was declared dead at the location.
On Tuesday, February 11, at 8:31 AM, the Urbana Police Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of Laurel Drive following a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers encountered Meek, who exhibited multiple stab wounds.
The crime scene was examined by detectives from the Illinois State Police and Urbana. Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement established a lead and subsequently located Sharon Moore, a 45-year-old resident of Urbana.
