Samuel Green Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old man from Will County, who had been reported missing, was discovered deceased on Sunday in a wooded area close to his residence.

Samuel Green had gone missing on Wednesday from his home in unincorporated Crete, located near the 23800 block of South Plum Valley. His body was located around noon on Sunday, concealed beneath a drain pipe in the wooded vicinity of his home.

According to deputies, Green was last observed in a video recorded by a doorbell camera near his residence on the day he went missing. At that time, he was dressed in a blue t-shirt and black sweatpants, without shoes, socks, or a coat.

Law enforcement had been actively searching for him. After receiving the missing person report, deputies conducted a search of Green’s home and the nearby areas on foot, employing K9 units and drones, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Due to worsening weather conditions on Wednesday evening, the search was suspended around 9:30 a.m. The following morning, the search resumed but yielded no results. The cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy will be conducted by the coroner’s office.

“The Sheriff’s Office wishes to express our heartfelt condolences to the Green family, their relatives, and friends. We appreciate the support and concern shown by all agencies and the public during this tragic event,” stated the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
