Jasmin Chavez Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of a 24-year-old woman who succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident on Tuesday afternoon in southwest Oklahoma City.

At approximately 2 p.m., law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of Southwest 38th Street, situated between South Pennsylvania and South Blackwelder avenues. Upon arrival, officers discovered a shooting victim who had collided with the side of a church.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The Oklahoma City Police Department has identified her as Jasmin Chavez.

Investigators revealed that Chavez had paused to converse with several individuals in the 1300 block of Southwest 38th Street when she was shot. In her attempt to flee the scene, she crashed into the Redemption Church.

Two individuals—a 19-year-old male and a 16-year-old female—have been arrested on charges of first-degree murder. The 19-year-old has been booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center, while the 16-year-old has been placed in the Berry House.

Newschain has withheld the names of the suspects as formal charges have yet to be filed.
