Nathan Johnson Obituary, Death;- The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Nathan Johnson.
As per the report from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were initially dispatched to the intersection of Slow Hand Lane and Whitesville Road to look into a stabbing that had taken place earlier that evening.
During their investigation, deputies encountered Johnson, who was allegedly armed. Johnson fled the scene, prompting a pursuit by the deputies, during which shots were fired.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy involved in the incident has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with standard protocol while the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) conducts an investigation into the shooting.
