John Thao Obituary, Death; – The Coroner’s Office of Spartanburg County has confirmed the identity of the individual involved in a fatal incident between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained while attempting to cross the road in Spartanburg County. The incident occurred at 6:58 p.m. on Tuesday along S.C. Highway 9, specifically at the intersection with Milliken Road. Authorities reported that a man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Camry.
Following the collision, the pedestrian was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he later passed away. On Thursday, the coroner revealed that the deceased was identified as 33-year-old John Thao. It was noted that Thao’s family indicated he did not have a permanent residence.
The investigation is being conducted by the Highway Patrol.
