Nearlean C. Walker Obituary, Death; – The Huntington County Coroner’s Office has officially confirmed the identity of the driver who lost her life in a collision in Huntington County on Wednesday evening as an 81-year-old woman from Kokomo.

As reported by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. at the junction of US 24 and County Road 750 North.

The Sheriff’s Department indicated that an SUV was halted at the intersection of US 24 and County Road 750 North before it attempted to navigate across the westbound lanes of US 24 to turn onto the eastbound side. While the SUV was entering US 24, it was impacted near the rear tire on the driver’s side by a Ford F-250 pickup truck traveling westbound.

Authorities have stated that the SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was transported to a hospital for medical attention.

The Huntington County Coroner’s Office has identified the SUV driver as Nearlean C. Walker, an 81-year-old resident of Kokomo, Indiana. According to the Coroner’s Office, Walker’s death resulted from blunt force traumatic injuries, and it has been classified as accidental.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, being conducted by both the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office and the Huntington County Coroner’s Office. Both agencies have expressed their heartfelt condolences to Walker’s family and friends.

Assistance with the investigation has been provided by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department, Roanoke Police Department, Indiana State Police, Roanoke Fire Department, Parkview Huntington Hospital EMS, Huntington County Traffic Team, and Huntington Central Dispatch.
