Theresa Marie Poffenberger Obituary, Death;- A woman from Washington County has been reported deceased following a collision with the rear of a tractor trailer on Wednesday morning, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.
At approximately 4:00 AM on January 29, 2025, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Halfway Boulevard and Interstate 81 in response to a report of an SUV that had collided with a tractor trailer.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the SUV driver unresponsive and immediately initiated CPR. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead at the location. The tractor trailer driver sustained no injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Theresa Marie Poffenberger from Hagerstown, and her next of kin has been informed. The Hagerstown Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
