Maurice Elliott Obituary, Death; – Lexington law enforcement officials have apprehended an individual in relation to a shooting investigation.
On January 28, 2025, Shawn Blanks, aged 54, was taken into custody concerning an incident that occurred on December 26 in the parking area of the Laundry Connection, located in the 400 block of Newtown Pike. According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, 63-year-old Maurice Elliott sustained a gunshot wound at the location. He was subsequently transported to UK hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Blanks faces charges of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in relation to this homicide. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
