Carlos Aguilar-Reyes Obituary, Death;- The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who was tragically struck and killed while riding his bicycle in downtown Walnut Creek on Wednesday morning. Carlos Aguilar-Reyes, a 49-year-old resident of Oakland, was involved in the incident on North Main Street near Ygnacio Valley Road, adjacent to the Target store, shortly before 5:45 a.m.

In the aftermath of the incident, both streets were closed for several hours as law enforcement conducted their investigation. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the authorities. A representative from the city of Walnut Creek indicated that the police do not anticipate any charges being filed in connection with this incident.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist Aguilar-Reyes’ family with funeral costs.

The campaign states, “Carlos was a diligent and devoted father to his two children, Diego and Keny, and a caring husband to his wife, Cristina. His son, Diego, is currently enrolled at Sacramento State University, while his wife and daughter are working hard to support the family. The sudden passing of Carlos has imposed both emotional and financial strain on them during this challenging period.”

The page continues, “We are seeking contributions to aid the Aguilar family with funeral and burial expenses. Your kindness will offer essential support as they face the difficulties of this profound loss.”

As of Friday afternoon, the GoFundMe page had garnered over $9,500 in donations and can be accessed at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-aguilar-family-honor-carlos-memory.
