Julio Torres Arrested; – Authorities have identified a suspect in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man on Saturday night. They are currently attempting to locate his whereabouts.

Julio Torres, aged 28, is facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and fleeing the scene of a fatal accident, as stated by the Bradenton Police Department in a press release.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, when the suspect was driving a black Infinity sedan at a high speed on northbound 15th Street West, according to police reports. Torres is alleged to have lost control of the vehicle, subsequently colliding with a pole and striking the 26-year-old, who was reportedly either sitting or sleeping in the grass adjacent to the sidewalk at that time.

Following the collision, Torres is said to have exited his vehicle and fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, as indicated by the department.

Individuals with any information regarding Torres’s location are urged to contact the Bradenton Police Department at 941-932-9300. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.

Those who provide information leading to Torres’s apprehension may qualify for a reward of up to $3,000.
