Elijah Mack Jr Obituary, Death;- A suspect is currently in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day in Bessemer, as reported by law enforcement officials. At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers arrived at a residence located in the 800 block of 24th Street North in response to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as 65-year-old Elijah Mack Jr., inside the home. He was declared dead at the scene. The Bessemer police have yet to disclose any details regarding the suspect or potential charges.
