Winfred Harvey Arrested; – A 51-year-old man is charged after police say they found a stolen gun and cannabis in his car during a traffic stop.
Winfred Harvey of Rockford is charged with possession of cannabis, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of firearm with defaced serial number and no valid FOID.
Rockford police say they stopped a vehicle just before 6:30 p.m. Jan. 1 near S. Main Street and Blackhawk Avenue. During the stop, officers say they found cannabis and a loaded handgun with a partially defaced serial number reported stolen out of Jackson, Mississippi. Harvey is being held in the Winnebago County Jail and is expected to be in court Jan. 2.
