Wendi Farrel Obituary, Death; – MTN News has identified the woman who perished in an apartment fire on the 2000 Block of Livingston Avenue. The Lewis and Clark Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Thursday that the deceased is Wendi Farrel, 56, from Helena.
In a statement provided to MTN, Sheriff Leo Dutton remarked, “The investigation into the cause and manner of death is ongoing. There are no signs of foul play; however, the precise cause and manner of death have yet to be established.”
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at 2009 Livingston Ave. at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The blaze was brought under control by 8:00 a.m., at which point they found Farrel, the only resident of the apartment, and attempted to perform life-saving measures.
Fire investigators indicated that the fire seemed to be of electrical origin, potentially triggered by an outlet strip.
