Warren Honeywood Obituary, Death; – A deceased man was discovered within a residence in Peoria following a shooting incident involving a family member, according to the police department.

Officers from the Peoria Police Department arrived at the vicinity of Olive and 83rd avenues at approximately 11 p.m. on December 21. There, they located Warren Honeywood, 45, from Buckeye, lying lifeless on the floor of the home.

“Initial reports indicate that this was a domestic violence situation confined to the victim and the individual who made the call. A physical confrontation occurred between the victim and the caller in a bedroom. It is believed that a relative intervened and subsequently shot the victim after hearing the altercation,” stated the police department.

The individual accused of fatally shooting Honeywood has been identified as Joshua Mayfield-Chavez Jr., 19, from Phoenix. He has been apprehended and is currently held at the Maricopa County Jail. Mayfield-Chavez Jr. faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct involving a weapon, discharging a firearm within city limits, and endangerment.

The police have not disclosed the specific nature of the relationship between Honeywood and Mayfield-Chavez Jr.
