Zoe Dekontee Kpanlin Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the 17-year-old girl who was shot and killed last week in Brooklyn Park.
Zoe Dekontee Kpanlin, a resident of Elk River, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest, as reported by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. Officers responded to a call at approximately 8 p.m. on July 1, to the 7000 block of Lakeland Ave. N., regarding a teenager suffering from a life-threatening gunshot injury.
Kpanlin was declared deceased after being transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
The suspect remains at large despite attempts to establish a perimeter and conduct a search of the area with the aid of a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter.
Crime Scene Investigators from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office examined the scene, and detectives from Brooklyn Park are actively pursuing the case. No additional information has been released.
