Zane Huges Obituary, Death; – Kill Devil Hills police have identified the individual who was fatally shot on Thursday at a fishing pier in the Outer Banks, according to WITN reports.
Zane Huges, a 19-year-old resident of Colington, succumbed to injuries sustained during the incident at the Avalon Pier parking lot. A 15-year-old boy was also injured, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, and was subsequently airlifted to Norfolk, Virginia. He returned to the pier on Friday to resume fishing.
Authorities report that 16-year-old Henry Hargis has been charged in connection with the shooting and has been taken into custody. He faces charges of first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Hargis is currently being held at the Pitt Regional Juvenile Detention Center without bond.
