Zahir Wylie,Jason Reese Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the three individuals who lost their lives in a mass shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Grays Ferry. They have also released a video in an effort to identify three of the gunmen involved.

Additionally, nine other individuals sustained injuries, including a 19-year-old man who is currently in critical condition due to two gunshot wounds to his head, as reported by officials. Among the victims were three teenagers: a 15-year-old girl and two boys aged 17.

According to investigators, the shooting commenced just before 1 a.m. during a gathering on the 1500 block of S. Etting Street, close to Dickinson Street.

A surveillance video shared by the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) on Monday night depicts a chaotic scene, with bystanders seeking refuge on front porches while shooters appear to exchange gunfire with a group further down the block. Authorities have slowed the video and are soliciting tips to help identify three shooters featured in the footage. Ballistic evidence suggests that nearly 140 shots were discharged, as stated by Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel on Monday afternoon.

The footage had been circulating on social media prior to its release by the police and was captured by a Ring camera located on the block. The individuals who were killed in the shooting include Zahir Wylie, 23, from Overbrook; Jason Reese, 19, from West Philadelphia; and Azir Harris, 24, from North Philadelphia, according to the PPD.

Harris, who utilized a wheelchair, had been paralyzed in a shooting incident in 2018 and had publicly shared his experiences as a survivor of gun violence. His recovery journey was documented by Helen Ubiñas of the Inquirer.

As of now, no arrests have been made in relation to the shooting that took place on Monday. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
