Zach Miller Obituary, Death; – A 34-year-old man who was fatally shot at a bar in north Wichita on Sunday has been identified by his family as Zach Miller.
“As many of you may know, Zach’s life was tragically taken by another individual in Wichita, Kansas,” states a GoFundMe page established on Tuesday by Miller’s sister, Bre’Onna Searles. “Zach was a devoted and loving father to his two children, Zai and Jett, as well as an exceptional and motivating son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and teammate to countless individuals.”
According to the Wichita Police Department, the deadly shooting occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday at the Tropics Lounge, located near 25th and Broadway. Authorities reported that Zachary Miller sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and lower body and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The WPD has identified the shooter, who has been taken into custody, interviewed, and subsequently released while the case is prepared for presentation to the district attorney. The name of the shooter has not been disclosed.
Ford indicated that initial investigations suggest a disturbance occurred in the patio area, leading the suspect to fire three shots at the victim, prompting patrons to flee. “The Wichita Police Department encourages anyone with information to come forward,” Ford stated.
