Yoraily Santos Obituary, Death; – Authorities are persistently pursuing the investigation into a suspected domestic murder-suicide that occurred on Wednesday evening in Brockton.
The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office has identified one of the deceased individuals as Yoraily Santos, aged 18, and the other as Starli Roa Tayeras, aged 22.
Brockton Police received a 911 call from the landlord at 642 North Main St., reporting that his upstairs tenant had discovered his son and his girlfriend deceased on the floor of their residence, as stated by the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office.
Brockton police, fire services, and Brewster EMS promptly responded to the scene. First responders located the woman, Santos, on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the DA. The suspect, Tayeras, was found on the bedroom floor with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Both individuals were declared dead at the scene. Authorities discovered a firearm in proximity to Tayeras, as reported by the DA.
Following a review of video surveillance from both the interior and exterior of the apartment, along with witness statements, investigators are led to believe that the only two individuals present in the apartment during the shooting were Tayeras and Santos, as indicated by the district attorney. Witnesses reportedly informed investigators that Tayeras and Santos had a history of domestic violence.
