Xavier Cox Obituary, Death; – A 22-year-old man was tragically shot and killed in Moreno Valley, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday.
Deputies arrived at the 13600 block of Daimler Street at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday in response to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they found the victim, identified as Xavier Cox, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Both deputies and paramedics provided immediate medical assistance to Cox before he was transported to a hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, according to officials.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives took over the investigation and brought a suspect to the sheriff’s station for questioning. The sheriff’s department indicated that the suspect was cooperative during the investigation and was subsequently released. No details regarding the suspect’s identity were disclosed.
The investigation remains active and has been forwarded to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office for further examination. The sheriff’s department stated that the shooting was an isolated event and posed no ongoing threat to the community.
