Willie Lewis Lott Obituary, Death; – The Northport police are conducting an investigation following the incident in which a pedestrian was struck and killed on September 6 in Northport.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 2000 block of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard, according to Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter of the Northport Police Department.
Officers from the Northport Police Department, along with Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue and NorthStar Ambulance, responded to the location where they discovered the accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the northbound lanes of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard, Carpenter stated.
The pedestrian, identified as Willie Lewis Lott from Northport, was declared dead at the scene.
The Northport Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the fatality.
Carpenter mentioned that no criminal charges are currently pending.
