William Rance Bill Obituary, Death; – A man from St. George has been identified as the victim of a deadly collision that occurred several miles outside of Mesquite, Nevada, late last month, as reported by the Nevada State Police.
The accident took place just before 7 a.m. on July 31 on southbound I-15, approximately 11 miles south and west of Mesquite, according to Trooper Shawn Haggstrom in a news release issued on Monday. A 2022 Kia Forte sedan was traveling south in the left lane of the highway around 6:45 a.m. when it collided with a 2024 Isuzu NPR-HD cone truck that was parked between the left shoulder and the left lane “in a construction area with its direction board and warning lights activated,” Haggstrom stated.
The truck driver was outside the vehicle setting up construction signs along the highway. Haggstrom noted that the Kia driver failed to change lanes when approaching the maintenance vehicle, “resulting in the left front of the Kia striking the right rear of the Isuzu.”
The Kia driver, identified as 22-year-old William Rance Bill from St. George, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Haggstrom. A passenger in the Kia was transported to a nearby hospital, but police did not disclose any information regarding the passenger’s condition.
The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, and further details are not available at this time.
