William Prater Carpenter Obituary, Death;- On October 23, at 1:36 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Bumpy Oak Road and Marshall Corner Road in Pomfret following reports of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a three-wheeled Harley Davidson motorcycle had veered off the roadway for reasons that remain unclear.
The lone rider was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 77-year-old William Prater Carpenter from Bowie. Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact PFC Dove at 301-609-6225. The investigation is currently ongoing.
