Wendy Nunez Calderon Obituary, Death;- A man was charged on Thursday in relation to a shooting that occurred in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to a man.
Jonathan Hernandez, 41, from Hyde Park, faces charges of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to murder.
Hernandez is alleged to have shot a man and Wendy Nunez Calderon on Faraday Street on Wednesday morning. Footage from Sky5 captured the victims being placed on stretchers and loaded into ambulances. Calderon succumbed to her injuries, while the male victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in the hospital.
As per the police report, Hernandez was discovered lying on the ground near the vehicle at the time of his arrest. The male victim identified Hernandez as the individual who shot him, according to the police report. City Councilor Enrique Pepen previously stated that the shooting was a targeted incident.
“All we know is that it definitely was a targeted event. This was not a random act of violence. This was something that we could say is gang-related,” he remarked.
Hernandez was arraigned at West Roxbury District Court and is being held without bail.
