Wanda Faye Harris Obituary, Death; – A Union Pacific train struck and fatally injured a 66-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by Wauwatosa police. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Wanda Faye Harris from Wauwatosa.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of 111th and Burleigh streets. Firefighters from Wauwatosa attempted to provide life-saving assistance; however, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Wauwatosa police, the woman was crossing the tracks from east to west when the train approached. Authorities classified the incident as “non-criminal.” In a statement, Union Pacific referred to the individual as a “trespasser” and clarified that the incident did not take place at a designated crossing.
Officials confirmed that no crew members sustained injuries and that they will receive support following the incident. Initially, it was reported that the woman was 67 years old, but the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed her age as 66.
