Victor Lapharohs Obituary, Death; Teen out on bond for Christmas parade shooting charged in Scotlandville murder

Victor Lapharohs Obituary, Death; – UWK has discovered that one of the teenagers recently apprehended in relation to the fatal shooting on June 30th near Scotlandville was on bond at the time for charges linked to a shooting that took place in December 2024 on the Baton Rouge levee. This same individual had also been previously arrested in connection with the death of a 15-year-old student.

The deadly shooting transpired shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday, June 30, in the vicinity of Avenue J and Woodpecker Street in the Scotlandville area. Upon the arrival of officials, they found a 22-year-old man, later identified as Victor Lapharohs, deceased at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

On July 4, 17-year-old Eddie Monroe was taken into custody for his alleged role in the shooting. He faces charges of second-degree murder. Additionally, a 16-year-old suspect was also arrested.

At the time of Lapharohs’ death, Monroe was out on bond for a different shooting incident that occurred on December 14, 2024, on the Baton Rouge levee. This incident reportedly began as an argument and escalated into a shooting exchange between individuals. An innocent bystander, a woman, was hit by gunfire and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
