Tyler Kerry Obituary, Death; – A 20-year-old British tourist, identified as Tyler Kerry, was found deceased in a lift shaft in Turkey, and his brother has asserted that he was murdered. Tyler Kerry, hailing from Basildon, Essex, was discovered on Friday morning at the Trendy Lara Hotel in Antalya.
His younger brother, Mason Read, who was among those who found him unresponsive, expressed his firm belief that Mr. Kerry was a victim of foul play. The BBC has reached out to Turkish authorities for further information. Mr. Kerry had arrived in Turkey on November 27 with his grandparents, girlfriend Molly, and other family members.
On the night of the incident, the group was enjoying drinks at the hotel bar when Mr. Kerry, a laborer, fell asleep on a sofa and subsequently went missing. During a frantic search, Mr. Read located his brother with severe injuries at the bottom of the lift shaft in the hotel basement.
Mason recounted the moment, stating, “Molly rushed over, fell to her knees, and began screaming ‘Tyler, get up.'” He described the experience as “heart-wrenching” and “heartbreaking,” emphasizing that it was an image he would never be able to forget.
During the search, Mr. Kerry’s vape was discovered on the hotel’s first floor, covered in blood, according to Mr. Read. He was found “lying face down” and was only wearing boxers and socks, as previously reported by the family.
Mr. Read insisted that the authorities should classify his brother’s death as a murder investigation. “My brother has been killed, without a doubt,” he stated. “I seek justice for my brother. It is tormenting to think about everything that might have happened to him. My family and I cannot continue living in uncertainty; we need answers now.”
The brothers’ grandmother, Collette Kerry, informed the BBC that law enforcement is treating Mr. Kerry’s death as suspicious. She had organized the holiday in February as a special treat, as none of her grandchildren had ever traveled abroad. However, on the second night of their trip, she and her husband, Ray, were awakened by loud knocking at their door, which brought the tragic news of Mr. Kerry’s death.
