Tychriston Reed, hailing from Fort Worth, is charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant, four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child. The fatal shooting occurred early Sunday morning at Malibu Jacks in North Richland Hills. According to police reports, a confrontation erupted outside the entertainment venue shortly after it closed at midnight. This altercation escalated, leading to Reed allegedly drawing a firearm and shooting two individuals.
At the time, two off-duty police officers from North Richland Hills were present in the vicinity. One officer returned fire, while the other attempted to assist the victims.
DaShayla Jones, a 21-year-old woman from Dallas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, a 23-year-old man from Dallas, was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. North Richland Hills police are anticipated to provide further details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting.
